Paula S. Heffner
I have lived in New Mexico since 1974, first in Los Alamos, then Santa Fe, and now in Albuquerque. I am continually inspired by the unique beauty of our landscape, skies and the quality of our light.
Though I discovered and fell in love with watercolor nearly 40 years ago, my careers as an educator and mother preempted continuing this artistic pursuit at that time. In 2017, at the age of seventy, I began painting again, taking classes with Nancy Goetz and recently I completed a class on still life with Ruth Andrews Vreeland. Both of these instructors and artists have added much to my knowledge and process of successful watercolor painting. I am a member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society and the New Mexico Art League, and have had paintings accepted for exhibitions sponsored by both groups.
